Barcelona to Host First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held an open training session inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
